The Yellow Wall-Paper

This is a great picture for painted walls because this factory building is kind of like her room. It is kind of hideous and grotesque. The picnic table represents comfort and her home was a place for comfort. The lonely tree is facing the building and it is dead. It is like in the story how the woman had to look at the wall paper in her room and it made her go insane. The snow depicts beauty and the woman in the stroy talked about how her house was hideous but there were some beautiful things that she enjoyed on the outside of it.

psychology of color

Helps portray beauty by making things look smaller. It's the color of power, and of submission.

White: The color of purity and innocense and cleanliness.

Red: An intense color. Color of love it attracts the most attention and it makes things look bigger.

Blue: Most poular color. Makes the body release less intense chemicals unlike red which makes the body release intense chemicals, so it is a calming color.

Green: A refreshing, calming color. Shows wealth and knowledge.

Yellow: Attention getter. Speeds metabolism, makes people angry.

Purple: Since there is little purple in nature,
when people style purple they fake. Means royalty, wealth and sophistication.

Brown: Color of earth and sadness.

Orange: Color to help heal and stimulate things.

Gray: practical, timeless, middle-of-the-road, solid things in life. To much can mean nothingness.

Pink: Love, drains energy and calms aggression.

attractive repulsive

"Snow-Shine Morning" is very attractive because one of the most beautiful things to ever see is a tree covered in snow the morning after a snow storm. This picture reminds me of the perfect Christmas, a white Christmas. When blue and white are mixed together they make something that looks normal come alive and have beauty. That is what is happening in this picture.

The red flowers and the white snow i believe draw the eye in. It is attractive. It has black- blacks and white whites. We weren't suppose to use flowers in this, but it just works. It is very beautiful.

In my opinion this picture is ugly. The rusted doors and the blue/ white wall of the factory make the eye not want to look at it. I centered the building to add to the repusiveness. Even after I used the color enhancement tool on the picture it still didn't make it beautiful.

This is cool but repulsive photograph. The gray and stormy clouds bring a dark feeling to the viewer. The pole makes the viewer feel small because the picture is taken from a worms eye view. You can't read the sign on the telephone pole, but it says "Warning", and with this picture the warning is telling you that your eyes are going to want to move onto other photographs not because it's a bad picture but because it isn't attractive.

I have studied a little bit on the photographer named Ted Szukalski. He is into taking similar photographs as me. Pictures about life, beauty, obstacles and nature. He has taken many pictures. He has one of an ocean sunrise, Terrigal Sunrise, and it is straight up the perfect sight. The waves are roling into shore, the rocks reflecting the suns light and the colors of the sky illuminate the scene. He also took a picture of a women trying to get to the other side of a road, How to get to the other side?, but she can not. The traffic is so busy that she can't even step on the road. The viewer witnesses her anger because she throws her hands into the air and slams them on her head. Also he has one of a morning sunrise day where life guards are getting ready to watch and protect peoples lives while ther swimming on the beach. Lifesaver flags, shows how he care about life and how he expresses it in his work.

Other two montages

This is about warning and danger. I used the rule of thirds with the railroad tracks to make it less busy. I also put the tracks where i did because it looks like they are heading straight into the vans window. The fence/ road block thing is there to represent how people are to affraid to take a ride on their wild side.

This is home. It's beautiful, calming but still busy.
